but we have to postpone this season
Alfresco Bites – a gourmet food truck night market – an outdoor dining experience with a difference. Only the best artisan food vendors and entertainment that New Zealand has on offer, weekly in Cambridge on Fridays will be postponed until the later part of 2018.
Proudly organized by Black Fox Creative Ltd, Alfresco Bites started this community event because it brings people together. Over the last 3 years we’ve seen almost 35,000 people come to our events, and we are really proud of how that has contributed to the wellbeing and economics of Cambridge. We see it being a foundational event for any other event organisers to collaborate with, and have Alfresco Bites involved with their events.
In 2016 we collaborated with Waipa Home of Champions, Waipa Discrict Council and the World Masters Grand Finale, which was an incredible atmosphere closing down the street and having loads of entertainment. Also the Twilight Cycling Festival hosted Alfresco Bites and was found in Victoria Square, which was our ideal season venue. Yet with a few logistical clashes with other activities we’ve secured an equally impressive venue, Cambridge Raceway.
We've had much feedback about Leamington Domain, yet it comes with more legislation to consider, and costs involved are higher than that of Cambridge Raceway, as we had to externalise our resources eg portaloos, waste management and potentially traffic management plans. With only 8 weeks left of the season, it makes more sense for us to rebuild our forces and efforts into making a more feasible business model, and seek sponsors to support our cause for next season.
Event Director Taryn Lyford or known as Taz in Cambridge, said: “I’m so proud of what we’ve created with our events, and this year will only be bigger and better. We will be hosting an outdoor cinema in March and also partnering up with Relay for Life with the new venue of Cambridge Raceway on 10th of March, 10am-10pm. It’s a natural progression for us, yet I can’t do it alone. There are so many facets to this business that I single-handedly organise, whilst having two busy toddlers, so I’m looking for two very driven people to jump into my team this year and accelerate the events and graphic design aspects. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for all the updates of the events and recruitment”
So if you are interested to be involved with our events and sponsorship, then please touch base with us immediately. Most positions will be voluntary.
